I’m an athlete at heart! I was a gymnast in college and I’ve been a runner an barre advocate for years. Rowing is a workout that gives me a challenge without hurting my body.

Christopher is a former collegiate rower, a designer at Nike, a member of Fitness Instructors of Color and alllll things fabulous!  He chose CITYROW Portland because of the welcoming atmosphere for all and of course rowing!  “I love that my favorite sport is now part of my workout!”

Why Cityrow?

Carina (he/she/they respectively) is Portland’s premiere genderqueer personal trainer. A kindness enthusiast with a penchant for sass and bringing on the sweat, they strive to cultivate fitness spaces inclusive of every BODY no matter their gender identity, sexuality, or size. All will be respected and welcome to join in on the sweat sesh that is power pushes, glute squeezes, deep breaths and the always encouraged lip sync.

I’m a marathon runner and when CITYROW came to town, I thought it was a great way to train in the off-season!  Rowing has helped my endurance and my strength. I’m able to really push myself when I can and take it a bit easier when I need to.

I’m a workout junkie! Spin, Lagree, HIIT, you name it, I love it. I met my match with rowing though. I fell in love! I was sore in places I forgot I had. It changed my body and I had to share it with my fitness fam!

The warm-up! I love really getting into the stroke and teaching my crew how to row. Understanding the fundamentals makes rowing so much more fun!
